Retreats and Events
Come away and let your heart touch the Lord!
These events are opportunities for you to get away, be encouraged in your faith, be a blessing to others, receive ministry, and meet with fellow believers who are seeking a deeper walk in the Lord. Over the years people have counted some of these retreats as spiritual milestones in their lives.

Singing to the LORD
Fall 2022 Retreat in Franklin, Massachusetts
September 30 – October 2, 2022
Note: Masks are currently required at the Chapel, but not at the retreat house.
“Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing.” (Psalm 100:2)
Come join us as we explore how we worship God through singing.
Jim will be hosting this weekend retreat at the McMahon Retreat House of St. Mary’s Abbey in Franklin, MA. We look forward to this intimate time of teaching, sharing, singing and fellowship. Everyone is invited to bring their gifts and talents (especially musical) to share with one another.
Saturday afternoon will be totally free time (no scheduled afternoon sessions, though a healing prayer session can be scheduled if requested) so you can rest, relax, hang out on the porch and talk about spiritual things, go up the street and visit the Mount Saint Mary’s Abbey chapel and the gift shop (books and chocolate!), or other local sites like Wrentham Village retail outlets and The Big Apple down the street (fall only). We’ll also continue our new tradition of the Saturday Ice Cream Social (after dinner so the afternoon will be free)! Think hot fudge!
Where: McMahon House, 1061 Upper Union, Franklin, MA (Directions), part of Mount Saint Mary’s Abbey, Wrentham, MA
When: Friday 7:00 pm – Sunday 1:00ish. Registration is Friday 6:00pm – 6:30pm (Any Abbey guests must check in at the Abbey by 7:00pm). Feel free to come anytime after Noon to get settled and enjoy the facility. You are welcome to have a time of prayer before the retreat Friday afternoon at the chapel. (It is asked that you wear masks if you come to the chapel for any services.) The “program” ends at Sunday at noon, but plan on winding down the fellowship and “moving out” early afternoon. Lunch is not provided, but we always have leftovers, so stay and help us eat it up!
Cost: The cost is: (If you want your room to be at the Abbey, you must register as soon as you can because we cannot reserve rooms there in advance without full payment.)
- Single person: $190
- Couple: $335
This covers the cost of the retreat. (A voluntary free-will love offering may be made quietly to support The New Life ministry.) Some scholarship funds are available for those who need it.
Reservations: Contact Jim directly to make your reservation! Accommodations are limited (there are ten rooms in the retreat house, mostly singles), so make your reservation and full payment early if possible (so all funds can be deposited before the retreat)! We prefer retreaters to stay overnights, though we make allowances for health reasons and other circumstances.
Get on Jim’s email list for updates.
